It's an interesting turn when you first realize that almost all of the time it isn't important WHO pays for something, so long as it WAS paid for. This idea to be obvious when we paid for everything using bits of paper stamped with serial numbers, but you couldn't send those over a modem so we switched to an eventually consistent credit based system. Credit requires trust, and trust requires identity, and now we just take it for granted that every payment has to have an identity. But not with Lightning.
