Fedimint only has one lightning gateway serving the whole federation... that's a single point of failure. Each node in the federation should be running a lightning gateway to make the federation truely highly available.
THERE CAN BE MULTIPLE GATEWAYS. THEY WILL COMPETE ON FEES AND RELIABILITY. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A FEDERATION GUARDIAN TO RUN ONE ALTHOUGH MANY WILL BE.
Where do I find the documentation on how to set this up and learn more about this? When I'm reading the Fedimint.org website it still seems like it's one gateway per Fedimint.
Docs soon. For now ask around in chat.fedimint.org
Bottom of this page... https://fedimint.org/docs/GettingStarted/What-is-a-Fedimint "It is anticipated there will be a process by which a Lightning Gateway registers it's service with the federation to ease discovery, but it would also be possible to have multiple unannounced gateways that users could contract with directly."
