What's the best place to buy XMR if you're in the US? I'm okay with buying from an exchange and immediately moving to self-custody. #XMR #Monero
Swaps on stack duo are pretty great.
Ladies and gentlemen, the winning answer! Stack Duo is my new favorite app
what is the backend for their swaps?
Good question...
You could set up haveno-reto.com or bisq.network
Cake wallet has an integration with OnRamper right now. But I second the Haveno-Reto option
Yea I started clicking through the onramper thing in Cake and was like, "hang on a minute..." And came here
I’m surprised that there is any exchange left for Americans. I thought we were already at Haveno Reto being the only option
I didnt go through the whole flow. Might get stopped at the end due to region
If you don't care about KYC then probably Kraken If you want to buy it directly with fiat P2P without KYC then Haveno-Reto, or indirectly through Bisq/Robosats https://haveno-reto.com/ https://bisq.network/ https://dex.robosats.com/ (use Tor browser)
Ive got it connecting to a node on my LAN rn and it starts pretty fast
Could try that. Thanks
Looks like something to be careful about though. I see in the chat that somebody had a problem when they set it to an inaccessible node and the application wouldn't open.
That's not good. Guess the only way to get access again if this happens is a reinstallation. Would be better the app would switch to reachable nodes after a long enough time without connection.
it looks like if you mess up the config you can force the node with: /path/Haveno --xmrNode=192.168.1.1 but the user said it won't actually take a comma separated list of IPs like the "custom nodes" field says it will ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That's a better way than doing a complete reinstall
