All of that food leads to an insulin spike. The bread and granola and sugar (in the granola and fruit) is all converted to glucose in the blood, and to combat that unnatural amount of blood glucose the body has to spike insulin to correct. Constantly elevating insulin leads to insulin resistance and metabolic / hormonal dysfunction - the root of all modern chronic disease.

Most modern humans are addicted to food that creates insulin spikes, and live glucose hit to glucose hit. Think about what you eat in a day, is there ever a meal or a snack where you don’t have some form of sugar / carbohydrate? Most people are consuming some form of sugar and/or carbohydrates every few hours every single day. Their insulin is always elevated. They are physically and mentally addicted to these hyper palatable foods as well.

The foods that don’t excessively spike insulin are animal products - meat, cheese and eggs. This is what we’re physiologically adapted to live on. They provide all of the essential nutrients and fats we need for energy and optimal hormonal health with a normal (minimal) insulin response. Fatty cuts of beef are the best possible option.

Happy to send along some lectures by experts if you’re interested in learning more and getting out of the carb addiction / harm pattern and getting back to an optimal physiological state.
