I’ve heard that they may check the tap water about certain substances but for example such things like hormones don’t get tested. And this seems not too unlogical for me. 
I let it flow through a filter, a fam of me even build in an Osmosissystem. 
Tap water could also be viewed as “less alive” than spring water for example. But that’s another topic. 💦
