Alone in confined spaces are not ideal in most situations with strangers - and sometimes family. The approach is also key. Standing too close, saying I’m beautiful and asking me what my name is and if I’m married when I have headphones on and am clearly not paying attention to him makes me defensive, even if he meant well. Asking me how my day is going, what I’m listening to and maybe some light banter is great. If she banters back, that’s a green light she mighhht be interested. Before saying goodbye ask for names/numbers cos you enjoyed talking and would love to do it again sometime ‘in a less confined space’, though you enjoyed the elevator music - gesture towards her headphones. Little lame joke to show you know it might not be ideal. If they say no, it’s fine cos you’re leaving now anyway. Still not ideal in a lift, but they will feel less on edge. Just what I would do, if I was a gentleman👆
