 More than you think.

It depends on where you live, too. My friend started ICT SOS in 2013-ish in Wichita. We were in a top originating city at the time. Not sure where it’s at today, but there are more ways to combat it now thanks to my friend.

Human trafficking is not a political issue. Politicians will not fix it, but they May pander every 4 years or so. And sometimes attention brings money or change.

But lately, it brings a lot of sensationalism.

I have had trafficking touch my life personally in 3 different cities where I’ve lived. It happened to someone I love. And I worked with trafficking survivors as a professional in the addiction field.

It doesn’t look how you think it looks. Which is also why it proliferates. Power and violence also help keep it quiet.

The ICT SOS origin story isn’t exciting but should inspire you.
