twitter and numerous other silos used to allow people to build apps that did things with the data. that's going to stay open with nostr, at least to the extent that users don't aggregate into silo-like relay-CDNs.

and the other things about it are for example the social layer of a decentralised software repository, or for that matter, game distribution system, or any of the other places we already now have a social layer tacked on, this can be the engine behind it.
