christianese and dogmatism make some really interesting concepts in the bible inaccessible to people. 
For example, the idea of “apostle, prophet, evangelist, teacher, pastor” being the natural identities which emerge from a group of people involved in the natural growth of a social structure. In this case the church, but it is, imo, a universal principle, as many biblical concepts are, if they can be abstracted from the controlling religion side of things.
The apostle is the philosopher. the paradigm shifter. those who move the world from one root paradigm to another. the prophet is the visionary. they see, and understand the long term ramifications of the paradigm shifts long before others. and they speak it out, often receiving criticism in the process.
the evangelist is the person who onboards people to the new paradigm. these are the startup founders. the teacher is the person who establishes the people being onboarded with a deeper understanding of how things work. the pastor is the person who cares about peoples emotional and relational heath, and champions the needs of the average person.
These are all VERY different people and personalities. but the idea is that they are all a necessary part of the whole. People who fall into each of these natural gifts and dispositions do well to understand that even though they may prefer others who think like themselves, without the others the larger structure would collapse in short order.
