China-born π₯ scientist π₯ Chen Zhijian wins βAmericaβs π Nobelβ for medical research ========== Chen π€ Zhijian, a π China-born π scientist, wins the 2024 Albert Lasker π Award for π€ basic π medical research for his discovery of the enzyme cGAS, π― which π plays a crucial role in the immune response to pathogens. He π is the sixth scientist of Chinese origin π to receive this award π₯ and the second in the basic research category since 1962.
