Is this that one number from a very old study? If so, that is a number that represents *all liquid intake*, so juice from apples, moisture from vegetables, etc., everything. It was never meant to represent only consumption of water as a drink.

It's actually dangerous. So however much you want to "hydrate" your body, don't force it.
