US prosecutors are investigating Tesla for securities and wire fraud in relation to its Autopilot system. The investigation comes as Tesla faces a significant quarterly earnings report, which will reveal the financial impact of recent recalls that have affected approximately 2.4 million vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is also investigating Tesla's Autopilot system to determine if the carmaker adequately addressed issues with the driver-assistance system.
