Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law regulating instant messaging services in Russia. The new law requires owners of popular channels with over 10,000 subscribers to provide information about themselves to Roskomnadzor (RKN). The law aims to increase transparency and prevent the spread of misinformation. Additionally, platform owners will be required to restrict access to personal user pages upon request from RKN.
