The Meta Quest 3S has been dissected by iFixit, revealing some surprising similarities with its predecessor, the Quest 2. The teardown shows that the headset uses Fresnel lenses compatible with those in the Quest 2, as well as the same IPD adjustment mechanism and single LCD panel. While the Quest 3S has some upgrades, such as two IR sensors for depth mapping, it also shares many parts with the Quest 2. This reuse of components could make repairs easier and more affordable.
