Half of the comments think I'm talking about apps, and the other half understand what I'm really talking about because they've had to buy a washing machine post 2015.

That said, I do also despise the "subscription everything" bullshit. Ran into that today. I'm just about sick of paying for ridiculous subscriptions just to use an app one fucking time. Or having to sign up and remember to cancel when I'm done, which inevitably means they take two months of pay from me before it registers that i forgot to go back and cancel it.

The pirate bay is coming back

"PirateBay and Dumb Machines" will be the title of my memoir.
I’d buy it. When’s the release date?

Make it an empty pages book & subcategorize as a journal. Hotcakes. 🥞
That would definitely need to inhabit my bookshelf 🤓
You gotta put a subtitle so we know it’s you. Something like “the memories of green man” 👨
Somehow I have managed to get down to zero payments and subscriptions. It's the best life. The only exception is my monthly fee for my stacker news territory. And that is Bitcoin.
 Piratebay all day
I knew you weren't talking about apps. I'm just still peeved that they changed every basic linux command. I honestly still struggle to remember the systemd stuff.
Life gets better when you cancel all your subscriptions. (you also get to stack more sats)
😂 Everything as a Service because we gotta squeeze every last bit of profit out of people on this hamster wheel of life...
ISP and Mobile data are the only worth subscription based services.
In the meantime, AppSumo seems to allow you to buy apps for life and they have alternatives for about everything.

Not everything has to be nostrified (at least at for now).
 0. Set up a random email alias with simplelogin.io (works best with protonmail)
1. Set up a new disposable credit card with privacy.com
2. Set the spend limit on the card to $1
3. Give alias email and fake name/address/billing info to app (privacy.com doesn't care)
4. Use free trial. When it's up, they will fail to charge you because the card has insufficient funds.
5. Turn off email alias to not see annoying messages about your card not having enough money

✅🫡
In my opinion, don't subscribe to anything with a real credit card and always use privacy.com . Stay in control of funds being automatically withdrawn.

You still KYC yourself with Privacy.com
1 kyc is better than many
Every single appliance has a wifi and/or bluetooth radio in it.

I assure you, I do not need an app notification when my chicken is hot.

I kind of decided last night to put bigass knife switches on our dryer when the front panel eventually shits the bed.

DR. FRANKENSTEIN WOULD LIKE HIS DRUM TO TURN NOW! AND NOW HIS HEAT! BWAAHAAHAHAHAAHAA!!
"But subscriptions are low mental cost, you know, people don't want to think about every little payment"

Turns out they're higher mental cost and now people have to think about many big payments that follow them around 🤦.

Free movies and Fat zaps fixes this #OnlyOnNostr
 pirate bay over nostr
 It never left.
One brand: Speedqueen. Thank me later
I knew what you were talking about because I live with an electrician, electrical engineer, and HVAC technician and get to hear him bitch, when he finds out that something broken is irreparable or unreplaceable because of custom parts. 😂
