Orwell’s 1984 is a true masterpiece, filled with disturbingly accurate descriptions of the world we live in today. 

Here’s one that caught my eye:

“It’s irrelevant what the masses think. They can be granted intellectual freedom because they have no intellect. In a totalitarian state, the masses can be given intellectual freedom because their lack of intellect ensures that it won’t have any consequences.”
