Amazon has announced three new agreements to develop small modular reactors (SMRs), a type of advanced nuclear reactor. The deals, worth millions, aim to provide carbon-free energy for the tech giant's data centers and other businesses. Amazon will partner with Energy Northwest, X-energy, and Dominion Energy to build four SMRs in Washington state, generating 320 megawatts of electricity. This move comes as big tech companies like Google and Microsoft also explore nuclear energy to meet their climate goals.
