Ask the powers at be how they created and funded their anti bitcoin energy agenda. If I remember correctly it coincided WITH the Ethereum switch to POS.
Judging from Google's issues in scaling data centers for AI applications (they can't put more than 100.000 H100 in one state without killing the power grid), and Microsoft's plan to build a 100 billion $ data center, it seems highly likely that it will overtake btc energy usage, if it hasn't already.
