Straight up. Most ppl don’t care about what many of us care about. Most rest on “I have nothing to hide”. There are many ‘Greed Gland’ paths to attract the masses. Helping them find their ‘why’ and what you said 👌

1. Take your handle everywhere; no more username/password/email/registration/etc... 2. Can't be denied access to your own handle, sites no longer maintain exclusive rights to your content. These are big promises, but noobs expect pristine UX at the same level or greater than current "best in class" apps. Will take time.

the nostr dgaf, just like it's grossfahrter bitcoin and padre lightning. the early adopters stick like nano-glue and intentionally don't care about DAU because ... VC money is blood money, and all of that is anyway gonna end up harvesting user metadata for the NSA. stop asking questions about getting the people who won't be loyal to try and manufacture a fad that will be over next year and won't matter in the big picture or long arc.

Uncensorable access to critical thinkers and viewpoints that go against the state sponsored narratives. Independence to build a community that you choose, rather than a corporate algorithm filtering your timeline to push agendas, fear and anger, designed to keep you on the app and generate advertising dollars. ✨🙏

When I try to get friends to try out Nostr, they say they have Twitter. And when they're not into BTC, it's a no go. Personally I think there needs to be some sort of other differences between the platforms for the regular Joe's.

Yea. That chasm illustrated by @jingles does have an “other side”, which is where “all my friends are there” plays out. As nostr is home to a growing diversity of these real world communities, it will grow closer and closer to having main stream penetration “where my friends are”. By “allied affinity group” I simply mean IRL groups of people who have natural affinity for the same values that nostr and bitcoin hold. One example is what I’m building at http://vote.gold … an “archipelago” of private relays for the US libertarian political party (and allied) local chapters, campaigns, and caucuses, held together by a custom client that facilitates inter-relay (within the community) communications. Build tools for small “allied” communities, and the masses will follow.
