Strategy reset under new Tata Digital boss; subscription play for Ola, Uber autos
==========
Naveen Tahiliyani, the new CEO of Tata Digital, is implementing a strategy reset by cutting costs and adopting a data-driven approach. He is fostering collaboration and participation from other group companies. Ola and Uber are launching subscription plans for auto-rickshaw drivers, replacing the traditional commission-based model. The subscription plans could potentially bypass the 5% goods and services tax (GST) applicable on auto-rickshaw rides. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has formed working groups to develop guidelines for IoT, data safety, and digital education. Legal experts believe the proposed AI law in India will protect the interests of content creators and achieve a balance between publishers and developers of generative AI models.
