It seems like phones are a single point of failure when it comes to sovereignty. 

Open source phone manufacturing where creation of the devices can be decentralized enough to avoid any single or few companies from being targeted? 

Or lowering the cost of production to make them so cheap you can use disposable phones and cycle them out if one becomes compromised or blocked?

But I think about this every time I walk by a homeless person and I want to give them bitcoin. What if there was a cheap smart phone I can hand them with bitcoin already on it and teach them how to use real money.
