My experience is that it's not binary like that. A lot of people develop through taking care of others (parenthood).

And then as I say in post - a lot of people never make it about others. I've witnessed many millionaires (some self made) who are still running self actualization threadmill - oh, when I have tens of millions - then. Then they get that... but are further away from finding peace.
