Because it is good.

The stupid parts are very rare: 

1. DIDs that are all variations of ICANN and new unproven ICANN alternative. 

2. too much restriction on data using json schemas instead of just blobs. so PDS is less useful as normal Web servers.

some other nitpicks here and there, but other than that, the architecture is brilliantly pragmatic.

In fact it is so good, that there is a real risk their shitty DID will take over and it will be really hard to convince people that it is a shity DID that is not any more sovereign than a domain name.
