Did you know that full moons are more than just a beautiful sight in the night sky? The moon's gravitational pull causes our planet's oceans to bulge out, resulting in high and low tides. But did you also know that both the full and new moons have an effect on tides? When the moon is opposite the sun with Earth in between, it creates a "spring tide" where high tides are slightly higher and low tides are slightly lower than average.
