Does this have to be installed on the same machine as the node?  

 No it doesn't.  It can be installed on any machine but it has to be able to connect to the node in question in order to get the invoice.  I'll put together a guide but no guarantees I won't make a mistake somewhere.

 The repo doesn't have enough instruction for me, sadly. I wish there was an indepth guide on how to get it going. A repo that tells you to run an executable that doesn't even exist in the dir after cloning is pretty lame.

 yeah idk, if this ever gets better documentation let me know. no idea how to use it. i installed it, ran it, but no idea how to link it up. the docs are bad.
