A significant amount of high-value cheese has been stolen from London-based Neal's Yard Dairy. The company, which specializes in artisanal cheeses, reported that 22 tonnes of cheddar worth over £300,000 were taken. The stolen cheese includes award-winning Hafod Welsh, Westcombe, and Pitchfork varieties. While the dairy has still paid the producers to ensure individual dairies did not bear the costs, Neal's Yard Dairy is now dealing with the financial impact. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed an investigation into the theft.
