Honestly it does 🔥😂 When Damus first included the feature last year I forced myself to try it for a month. It was weird at first and I remember actually missing the like button. By the end of the month I noticed the difference in my mindset and interactions with people. I have stayed onlyzaps since. Nostur lets you set which buttons and notifications you want to see and I completely turned off anything to do with likes in my UI. I love it. Won’t go back.

That’s a useful notification to have - failed zap. LN works, and there exist unhappy path failed payment cases, even in the case of the largest LSPs. Can you confirm the following info: Sending nostr app Sending nostr wallet type Receiving wallet type
In this case I’m sending from Nostur using my Alby wallet via NWC. Node said he’s receiving to Zeus zap locker. The payment successfully sends once he opens Zeus and accepts it. I agree it’s a useful notification, but it also discourages me from zapping someone when I’ve gotten several failed payment notifications in a row from them.

When someone zaps me, I get a push notification saying I received x amount of sats. I have to open the app and let it load a few seconds for the zap to be redeemed
Got you. Considering the wonkiness that is LN, this sounds like as good as possible of an experience, without Zeus being able to receive without opening an app. Sounds like everything is working as intended for both sender, and receiver despite LN shortcomings.
In WoS, when you zap a zeuspay wallet, it displays this message. I wondered if other wallets could do the same. Would be useful info for the sender https://i.nostr.build/4oEWL.jpg

When you use ZeusPay with their node in phone wallet, then incoming zaps go into the “zap locker” and don’t complete until you open Zeus and accept them.

Sorry, but could you explain what exactly is a note zap? What differs it from normal zaps? For me as a newbie it was a little bit tricky to configure zaps. I Could't get zaps to work with alby + amethyst, then, it worked with WOS + amethyst. But it always must open Wos before sending it. On web application Iris, for instance, with brave browser + linux mint, zaps do not work for me, It keeps saying that couldnt find any wallet when I tip someone. Could it be solved by having an opentab with wos logged in, or with some plugin? Sorry for so many questions
There’s 2 kinds of zaps. Profile zaps (when you zap the profile of someone) and a note zap (where you zap a specific note directly). Profile zaps are enabled on most clients but note zaps depends on the client. On IOS, Damus (they need to be enabled with a script), Nostur (they can be added through an option in the settings), Freerse have them. I don’t have much experience with Android but I think Amethyst has them
Does amethyst support nostr wallet connect? I’m pretty sure it does but I don’t have Android. If so then you can go to nwc.getalby.com and create an app connection for amethyst. Then you paste that in the appropriate wallet settings field in amethyst. It allows you to send payments directly from your Alby balance from within an authorized app without having to open an external wallet app.
You can try Freerse Android client, which can be tied to the Alby wallet. https://freerse.com

Good question. I don’t see one. I have the notification count turned off but I guess it doesn’t hide the likes tab. @Fabian could that be an option, to completely hide or show certain notifications tabs?

honestly and imo the perceived difficulty in accessing nostr works in its favour. I and my husband been online since before most people knew what the internet was. people like to call the early days the wild west... it wasn't. the early days were when the internet was essentially inaccessible to idiots and people were intelligent enough to not believe BS as well as intelligent enough to discuss rather than insult. probably a little blunt to say it like that however I've watched the internet become worse and worse the more of the general (and stupid) public got access over the years. prime time US shows are elementary school level writing and plots for a reason. 🤣
