Sometimes it's surprising we even have roads. https://image.nostr.build/4ef2d6663d69280ab52140061183bde3474f69e14905be35eab9e7e81276ae86.jpg
Well most of it roadways were built pre 1971. Not sure we would if we had to build them now. Peak fiat world
And the top tax rate was 70% in 1971. That's how the government could pay for everything. Today, the top tax rate is 33%, and trickle down economics is supposed to fix everything. How's that working out?
Probably because most roads are built by the companies that need them. At the moment they just act as if the state builds roads with taxes. But if a road is built to a warehouse/server farm/office the company pays it inderictly through taxes. They are the ones who wanted it and payed for it, so they actually built it. The government just was the useless middle management acting as if they are needed and did something.
Imagine how much worse it would be if they haven't fast-tracked it.
