yeah, that's what a 1800m peak in a 50km wide island in the north/south direction gives you... this side catches all the cold and wet and the other side bakes in the sun it's also very shady here, the mountains block out the sun until about 9am in the morning... IF the clouds don't also block it, which they do at least 2 days out of 3
there is two little islands you can see from the southern side that are basically just big rocks with almost nothing growing on them, they are the legit original desert islands... there have been attempts in the past to have people live there but it's basically a desert nature reserve, i met a ranger who does stints over there for a couple of weeks at a time
