 yes, UX and scale will matter 
 Why not having it integrated in existing clients? Sure it's more fun to build new stuff but a small intro when installing a client the first time or an optional guide should be doable. Seems not sensible to me to just have an onboarding client and push people to different clients afterwards.

 “Social Onboarding” will be the de facto “product requirement” definition for all clients “who onboard”. Personal invitations are the “acceptance criteria” that strengthens webs of trust. 

Catering to the needs of advocates who “share Nostr with their friends” is how we move forward to solve for onboarding challenges.
