I never understood this, especially in the FOSS world.

I've recommended changes or suggested preferences but I don't believe I've ever been negative.

These are folks who are voluntarily working on a project that I don't have to use. I may have done it differently but I'm not doing it.

If you're serious about a change you want to see, pony up some $$$. That will probably work better than negativity.
