Indeed there may come a safer time to resist and defeat evil - undoubtedly there always is when someone else does the hard work first. In this case, we cannot know how many votes were cast and not counted or how many were fake or purchased by Russia. It isn’t always clear whether a failure to act, or neutrality in the face of evil (including loss of freedom), is moral cowardice or a pragmatic choice to compromise to secure peace or avoid greater conflict.
