They did not present it as some major feature but rather humbly. Was mostly convinient. Did allow many things like advanced request validation of query and values. We could also combine our own queries to meet our needs. No need to make multiple calls and compile the data we wanted.
I guess #Graphql got mature enough and people use it without too much publicity.
