Yes, it seems he’s arguing for extreme care. Does the community actually have a fundamental disagreement with that?

We should all keep in mind that as a whole we fought for 1 MB small blocks and now, surprise!, some blocks are 4 MB and stuffed with jpegs. How did it happen? Was there consensus on expanding the block space and making it cheaper to stuff jpegs in there? I don’t recall that discussion.

It seems to me there is good reason to move with extreme care.
