I tried this once when I was younger (and stupider).

I sprinkled some gasoline on a few logs to start a campfire, let it sit for a few minutes, and then threw a match on it.  Even after a few minutes, there were enough fumes in the air to get a whoosh of fire high enough to go above our deck 8 feet above me.

I was lucky to get away with singed arm hair and eyebrows, and a feeble “I’m ok” to my family as I retreated to the upper deck.  

And the logs never did catch fire.
