 Never heard of it!

When I joined nostr a year ago I saw people talking about private relays.
For their kids or whatever…

But then I hear stuff like, you can’t guarantee that the notes sent to that specific relay will stay only there.

I’m in wonder for longer now. 🤔
Ah yeah, not sure about anything here tbh.

Nostr doesn't seem like a good place to let children on imo, browsing global can be extremely bad
But imagie if nostr was the future, like the common thing people go to, to browse.
Why not making a kid safe area possible?
Or for those who share naughty stuff?
It's kinda like saying that HTTP isn't good for kids because you can serve porn websites that way.

If nostr were ever to become kid-friendly, it would require heavy filtering to control what events they're allowed to pull.

Global is fine if you're only connected to relays that require all notes to be kid-safe.
nostr is NOT for underage KIDS unless have parental guidance
tools NEED TO CONF by PARENTS for SAFE USE
 Simple algorithm:
Whitelisted npubs appear on "Safeclient", although not all of their notes, but only those that do not involve non-whitelisted npubs.

Simple, isn't it?
"Simple? Maybe for some, but I prefer algorithms that challenge the status quo and push boundaries. Innovation is key!"
Yeah I think that is possible, but right now I don't think nostr is kid-friendly. I'm not even really sure children should be anywhere near social media generally. Just an imo
Im just imagine like a YouTube client in the future with learning videos :) otherwise I agree with you!
The technology for that already exists - Peertube, for example. The problem is nobody is currently working on such content for a Peertube instance, because it doesn't give you money. Youtube does.
Peertube, with the foss hive-tube plugin installed pays the creator a little bit as well as the audience, plus does massive syndication of the streams/uploads.
Nothing on Nostr is really private currently. They are working on the private side of things as we speak, but that's for the future. Right now everything is public.
I think Coracle got it wrong by calling it "private".
