What if it wasn't either? What would that world look like? I try to picture a world where we all get along and resolve conflict via communication. My preference would not to rub my genitals together with random people lol. 

My comment on the bonobos would be that our society can be anything and we as humans have decided that being nasty and brutish protecting our “property” from its forcefully takeover.
