Here's the thing about a store of value... 

you eventually have to SELL at least some of it, otherwise you're not STORING it, you're DISPOSING of it. You're locking it up and then throwing away the key.

The question is 
  how much to sell, 
  when to sell, and 
  for what purpose.

And that's an individual value judgement.
