Freedom is unfortunately one of the most nebulous and useless measures of all.

Fairness is easier to define. We’ve done it with games since the beginning of time.

So you’re saying that players at the olympics were competing due to the fairness of the Olympic committee and not because of the individuals talents?

fairness can muddy things up easily, one can complain that why should an athlete or a performer get 100k in one night and it’s not fair as I don’t even make 100k in a year

Anyways let’s agree to disagree 🤝
 Huh?
Your first sentence didn’t make sense.
To be clear: an athlete is looking to WIN, and the best athlete wins based on a set of standards / rules that are set by the game. Athletes opt into whatever sport and its rules - and then they compete for an unequal outcome.

The games that spectators most enjoy are the ones that have a winner and loser, but which were FAIR.

And your second statement sounds like some socialist stupidity.

The athlete clearly deserves way more money than you do. Especially if their talent has created the demand.

That’s also very fair.
It’s not equal, but it’s fair. And that’s what matters.
