I freaking love Joe Kernen 😂 https://m.primal.net/KRyM.mov
With the printing of money we are already consuming the assets of our descendants in the future. With taxing unrealized gains it will be stealing even further in the future
I am 100% on board with an unrealized capital gains tax as long as they offer an unrealized tax loss credit too
Not even taking a side either way, while this of course over time helps with the dollars of taxes you pay(assuming it’s structured reasonably) this creates an absolute nightmare of complex calculations and tracking that you have to do and carry over literally forever, including your descendants. An ever growing number of accountants, lawyers, and bureaucrats would be hired in this scenario for a net overall loss to society. So in summation, I think this sounds good the the surface, but is actually not a solution.
Oh I 100% agree with everything you just said and for those reasons, I think the entire thing is comical to even propose. As a caveat, I wish we were this passionate about the inflation rate they arbitrary say is okay for us when that is essentially a promise to me that my money today is just going to bleed away tomorrow. That is the most immoral tax out there.
🙏🏻 the toxic maxi we didn’t know we needed
You can say "fucking" here
They're coming for what you have, even before you realize the gain. nostr:note14sj02egxajzw8falkm7ver6nrna7m0aucfwd042l6hvlxwjrt20smqplu6
Bharat Ramamurti is a graduate of both Harvard and Yale, and should know that there are no gains, of any kind, factored in property tax. Awful.
Joe is great especially lately with all the push-back he's been dishing out. Too bad more people in the media didn't take the same posture when interviewing someone who is obviously slinging a bunch of bullshit at the audience.
