Ultra-processed food may not directly cause obesity, but it most certainly causes malnutrition, which the body then tries to compensate by craving for more (bigger portions and more often) of the same foods, and doing that then causes obesity.

Buying processed foods benefits Big Food. Then people get sick. Which in turn benefits Big Pharma. Neither industry benefits one cent of healthy people who eat real foods.
