Oven ₿acon is the best ₿acon https://i.nostr.build/51ZNCvnqAlGCrGlq.jpg
Low and slow in the pan is great too, and then you have a bowl of yummy pork fat to make your vegetables edible 💪🏿
The reserves are all caught in the pan ;)
I always keep jars of pork fat and beef tallow. My girl is a chef 💪🏿
Nothing finer, when my rents were here my tallow jar took a tumble and now I am starting over
Damn I want a piece
I’ve got to get a metal rack so I can try this. Frying bacon on the stove makes such a mess. I have a cast iron skillet with a lid but it still gets a bit messy Does this do the same? I assume not. 🤙🏻☕️
No mess, dont put a lid on it will steam rather than crisp. I save the bacon reserves from underneath. Theres no splatter and if you tackle the rack soon after cooking it cleans like a dream (mine goes into the dish washer after a rinse)
Thanks Dan, yeah I’ve noticed a lot of condensation when using the top. I try to crack it as well as remove the top to crisp the bacon and finish it. Definitely gonna grab a rack the next time I’m shopping and try cooking it in the oven.
Exactly, so much easier to cook bacon like this rather than splattering on the stovetop and having to flip them all the time. No flipping. (Bitcoin is more like Bacon, not Ethereum) I line the pan with parchment paper for easier cleanup too. For those of you outside America, one of our most popular sandwiches is called a BLT (Bacon Lettuce Tomato) So easy. Try it. 1) Toast your favorite Sandwich bread 2) Mayo (top sides of both for anti-sog protection) 3) Slices of Bacon 4) Lettuce 5) Slices of Tomato Cut in on the diagonal and eat it. Incredibly good. (Here come the..."You can't cut on the diagonal or other opinions." 🤣 )
Needs to be diagonal or its not fancy. What are your thoughts on cheddar?
I can't add cheese to the classic, however, we do these kinds of sandwiches with cheddar (yum) and a good ripe (not hard) avocado. Put a soft egg on there too, super messy, you can't even cut these. By the way, my wife/daughter laugh at me, I love the 'plastic basket' dinners (I do them a lot), with a sheet of aluminum foil or the red checkered pre-square paper. Easy cleanup and fun. Thoughts on the plastic baskets for dinner at home?
“Dinner style” is actually easy clean up style for the baskets & checkerboard paper
+1 for checkerboard (I could not think what it was called)
Love me some bacon https://media1.tenor.com/m/CRjhwlqk2akAAAAC/shaq-shimmy.gif
looks exquisite 😋 #foodnstr
420f for 20min ish Perfect crispy bacon, no grease spit burns, no mess
Going to do this myself today! 🥓🥓
Night & day difference to pan
Yes! No stovetop mess and I have a grill pan that holds 10-12 slices, so I cook a whole package and refrigerate what's left for quick breakfast for a couple days.
