Same with groceries, except in the far north, they put the prices up not just because of backend shit, but because with scarce enough access and a large enough customer base, someone will have to buy it. 

The same is true in Australia & New Zealand. Melbourne house prices? Cool mil in the outer suburbs. Go slightly regional and the house prices almost immediately halve, go further regional and they’ll halve again. 

Just don’t live in one of 5 immense, sprawling, overpopulated cities. It is not hard.
