What’s the best way to explain bitcoin to a kid under 10?

@HODL you must have an answer for this.
I just tell them it’s digital money. They accept it easier than adults.
how did you explain money or credit cards?
Money is tough because the current system is messed up, was trying to educate them about banks the other day but it’s hard because they don’t actually hold money any more. They are more of credit machine to create dollars to create debt which most people don’t fully understand including myself.
getting a foundation for understanding of exchanging value for value/ or money for stuff is a launch point. The finer points of how money is created in deferential models is more advanced.

BTC is similar. It is a network, it is money, it is an investment... among other things. but just to get started before refining the learning, what is it at its most base level and what else is like it for an analogy to fill in understanding?

There's a Tuttle Twins episode that does a good job. Actually how we stumbled upon the Tuttle Twins, lol.
Thanks I will check it out
Tell them it is energy that we can buy that is now accepted to buy stuff in place of $$$, and instead of keeping it in a bank where people charge us fees so they can tell us what we can do or not do with it, we keep it stored as energy in a block on the blockchain. And the blockchain is something that everyone who stores their energy-money on it can use from anywhere in the whole world at any time they want, right from their cell phone
Use a currency they understand better for example sweets, toy cars or any of that matter. Even action figures could work 🧡 #proofofdad
 Good idea thanks
And one currency is basically limited, has the same qualities as Bitcoin. A candy nobody can produce more of for example. A candy that can be transferred in a few milliseconds from one place of the planet to another.
 Don’t , they are 10 …
