For about 20 years, yes. With the electricity output getting slightly worse every year. Now imagine a world where electricity is abundant and reliable, as it has been in most developed countries for the better part of half a century and we wouldn't have to fumble around with half assed 'solutions‘. Solar and wind energy sources are regressive.
i kind of want my own nuclear reactor
same
just a medium sized one, nothing too fancy...
It’s happening but the moon and mars are the driving forces and sadly not domestic needs… https://techport.nasa.gov/projects/105671
Was thinking of that. Although I like cars and big trucks a lot. Electric is likely to be the future, forced or not. I want to buy some land and fight to drill for small batches of oil. I know people who know how to process crude to #2 or #4 fuel which is perfect for what I want to do :)
Still crying over our nice, local nuclear reactor. The Greens shut it down, and now I pay double for electricity. 😭
We have it worse. We built one plant and never turned it on. Afterwards, enshrined in our constitution, how retarded we are.
this is bulgaria right? and ironically instead burn coal and sell loads of the power to romania
uranium is very hot commodity these days too i think the nuke-maxis don't really understand how scarce the materials that can run nuclear plants actually are i say, go back to coal, we can make them clean now anyway (and the ones that are running now are a lot cleaner than they used to be)... and all they need to do is scale them down to neighbourhood size and the hard problem is just distributing a highly inert, relatively energy dense solid material to use for the job anyway, it will be fun to see how this all pans out because as i see it the only real way we can maintain our current population in the next 50 years is going to be if we have antimatter generators there will be enough carbon and radioactive materials to get us there but it's also going to require a substantial destruction of the science-destroying oligarchies running the governments
Damn, that is max-retardation. It's true.
i care a lot about nature and the environment but absolutely disagree with the Greens there... ironically, they don't think even one step ahead, they're like "i don't care that electricity is expensive" while only thinking about charging their phone, or maybe how it hurts bitcoin miners (🙂) like pretty much all politics nowadays it's crude, first degree feel-good sloganism... "nuclear plant baaad" then forget, electricity is a large part of the operating cost of everything from farms to industrial plants, so making electricity more expensive makes products more expensive, so importing more competitive, indirectly causing more international shipping and oil burning
Things the Greens are not: logistics and automotive specialists. I am. That's why I'm not Green. I prefer electrical stuff, in many cases, but I'm aware that electricity doesn't just come out of the wall socket.
i mean i am not a specialist in either but i can reason about them politicians just repeat and do what dumb people want basically
And they always take things too far. They take every topic and just run with it, until they get hit with a bad election, and then they row back.
