Raspberry Pi has announced a new range of branded NVMe SSDs and SSD kits, designed specifically for their flagship Raspberry Pi 5. The new drives come in 256GB and 512GB capacities, with the latter available for pre-order and expected to ship from late November. The kit includes an M.2 HAT+ board and the choice of either a 256GB or 512GB NVMe SSD.

The new drives are said to offer improved performance, with the 256GB model claiming 40,000 IOPS for random reads and 70,000 IOPS for random writes. The 512GB model claims even higher performance, with 50,000 IOPS for random reads and 90,000 IOPS for random writes.

The SSD kits are designed to provide a fast and easy way to add storage capacity to the Raspberry Pi 5, making it an attractive option for developers and hobbyists looking to create projects that require large amounts of storage.
