haha, perhaps they do! Taiwanese do have a whole month of ghost festivities with all sorts of distinctions of different ghosts to pay respects to throughout the year. So tacking on another holiday to pay respects to the dead while having fun is no big deal.

Taiwanese culture can get plenty spooky, lots of tales with ghosts, zombies, and monsters. The island of Taiwan even has the reputation of Ghost Island（鬼島)  because of all the death, disease, and disasters on the island

it'll be fun to see how Taiwan can make this holiday their own. in the meantime, these hand-burgers 🤭 will have to do
