Chinese EV leader BYD makes aggressive push in ASEAN

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker BYD plans to double its sales outlets in Singapore and the Philippines this year. The company aims to open more than a dozen sales outlets for passenger cars in both countries. BYD recently launched in Indonesia and is aggressively expanding in the ASEAN region. BYD has become a top EV manufacturer, rivaling Tesla. The managing director for Singapore and the Philippines, James Ng, is leading the expansion efforts.
