Joey Estes took a perfect game into the seventh inning as the Oakland Athletics beat the Seattle Mariners 2-1. Estes, making his seventh career start, did not allow a baserunner until J.P. Crawford led off the seventh inning with a double. The A's scored on a home run by Zack Gelof in the third and a passed ball in the sixth. Estes left the game after throwing 78 pitches and striking out five. T.J. McFarland grounded out to shortstop to keep the shutout intact. The Mariners loaded the bases in the seventh but failed to score. The A's closer, Miller, closed the game for his 12th save. Mariners starter allowed one earned run in six innings. The A's drew a crowd of 9,735 at the Coliseum. In terms of injuries, Mariners closer Andrew Muñoz underwent an MRI for a back injury, and there is no timetable for his return. Athletics pitcher was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas after being reinstated from the injured list.
