People can't find the things I write here, over a search engine. So, everything is openly readable and can't be deleted (high risk), but hardly anyone will ever see it (low reward). Content won't draw users in, if they can't stumble over the content.
I have been playing around with npub.pro just for the urls to share with non nostr any hashtag you decide cab publish any note to any page on a website making it searchable and discoverable on the web
It has a little button the reader can tap to make a nostr account
Primal is SEO'ing the living Jesus out of your posts https://media.tenor.com/DYDUrAhHqEkAAAAC/worry-men-in-black.gif
If you set up a npub.pro, it works well for indexing your content. I only have a couple of notes and most are already indexed by Google and Bing and it comes with a RSS feed of all of your notes.
I suggest making a test page with a throw away npub to see how it populates because no deletes. Make a map of the website you want where each subdomain is a different hashtag.
Just saw that I'm on the front page. 😏
lol, that should get you free custom urls if I were your nostr agent
We started monitoring servers and my new npub apparently gets looked at by hundreds and sometimes even thousands of people, but I can't tell, from my end. From my end, it's just 🦗 🦗🦗🦗 Feels like it's just me and the same 10 people I always talk to.
Nostr can feel incredibly lonely. I'll spend hours writing an article and get 5 responses and it's like.... stuff like that got hundreds of thousands of views on Twitter and I was shadowbanned and regularly locked out of my account. LOL
https://testerin.npub.pro/ It doesn't seem to find any notes from me, even though I can see them on Nostr.Band. 🤷♀️ Can you see notes in yours?
No notes. Maybe there is a relay issue?
I thought it pulls from band? 🤷🏻♀️
Hhm. And you defined what hashtags you wanted in the dashboard and then used them in your test note?
Yes, #Alexandria. I checked to make sure the box was clicked in the drop-down.
nostr:nprofile1qqsrx4k7vxeev3unrn5ty9qt9w4cxlsgzrqw752mh6fduqjgqs9chhgppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hj7qg3waehxw309ahx7um5wgh8w6twv5hsxct838 can we get some ceo support desk?
It looks like the only post with Alexandria hashtag is a reply. We don't pull replies - only root posts. Also it's not fetching from nostr.band - it's using your outbox relays. If you remove the hashtag filter some notes are showing up.
Okay, what do I have to do, to get this one to display? Is there some menu, someplace? nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzq4ekxjmysc6vhtgs7fz3wasgn63ppyxegplhzh5rc4mmgcg6umkuqqsfvg8kgyza2a3e22d55nweyyker2h9sqfnxewvuu3weh8mpkkcc5cpns6nf

No it's not about "homepage tags", it's about "content filters" - filters which events are included on the site.
Yes you can select for kinds and hashtags under content filters, so if you eventually wanting this for lonng form then select that. For testing you may just want notes. But on the test sites I've made, I left the hashtag box empty under content filters and only selected notes. Then down in nav and homepage I added the hashtags.
Go to https://npub.pro/admin, click on your site, click Settings, find "Content filters" section, remove "Alexandria" hashtag.
Ah, okay, now I see something! 🥳
Awesome!
That makes it so every note is published to the website though right? I use the homepage hashtags so every shitpost isn't sent to a website. I use the hashtags to only publish specific notes. 🤷♂️ Then I added other hashtags in nav so that a note will both land on home page and also be organized by topic on nav. ex: i shit post and inlcude no hashtags associated with website so it won't be published there i note about #vehicle and it lands on homepage i note about #vehicle and #truck an it lands on homepage and subdomain truck. So that once on homepage about vehicles you can nav to just trucks.
That's clever. I think I'm going to do that, too. Easier. No selfies or whining posts or complaints about burning the steak. 😂 Only best of Stella.
I'm sorry for the confusion, but it seems like you're doing it wrong @. To decide what's included on the site you use "Content filters" - you should specify your hashtags there. Only posts with those hashtags will be pulled into the site. All of them will be included on the homepage. But some people want to be even more selective even more with their homepage, i.e. "posts with #bitcoin and #nostr should be somewhere on my site, but homepage should only show #nostr". Then you go to "Homepage settings" and choose #nostr there - posts with #bitcoin will still be visible on the site, and you can i.e. add /tag/bitcoin to navigation to direct people there. Does this make sense?

Yeah, NostrView is SEO king
There's a difference between shitposts trending because you have a lot of followers and every fart you send trends, and your article or wiki page trending because it contains things people actually want to read. The stuff I put effort into, was not the stuff that was trending. Even when I post an article from my npub with almost 5500 followers, and embed a kind 01 link in it, to drive traffic, it'll get like 12 views. 😅 Shoot me, now, fr. But that's the sort of thing that would have wide appeal _outside_ of Nostr.

"Homepage hashtags" is when you only want a specific hashtag posts appear on homepage (but other posts still pulled in and discoverable through menu or from homepage posts). I can see your "another Alexandria" post on the homepage now. There might be some delay with server-side rendering of new posts. Local renderer living in the service worker should catch them faster, after the worker starts from the first page load.
Probably mine, then. 🙈 I have three different wallets and can't zap with any of them reliably.
